Why the Women 100 Project?

Because according to the Daily Excelsior, “women’s education increases income of women and leads to growth in GDP. Other effects are related to social development. Educating girls leads to a number of social benefits, including many related to women’s empowerment” – therefore, empowering OUR women is critical to the success of our community and nation. Additionally, UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ's student population is 60% female. Due to the significant population of female students at the College, the Foundation and community leaders have developed the Women 100 Project. This fund will assist our female students and provide them endless opportunities for a successful future.

The Plan: Raising vital funds that will have a direct and immediate impact on female student success.

The Women 100 Project helps:

  • Provide direct scholarship and grant support to women in need.
  • Invest in programming to help women succeed on campus.
  • Provide overall services that are specific to our female students.

The fund is supported solely by corporate and community leaders through their donation of $100 dollars each as well as additional sponsors of the program.

How Can I Get Involved? Individuals are welcome to become a sponsor of the program or make a straight donation in support of this initiative.

Expected Outcomes: Our ultimate goal is to use funding to support and empower our female students through programming and mentorship. In the end, we hope to see a dramatic increase in the support offered to full-time and part-time female students at UCNJ. Our hope is to develop a network of empowered women for years to come.

The Union County College Foundation was able to establish a
